Bob Isherwood was brought to the Goldstone Ground from the Lancashire club Radcliffe Wednesday during the close season of 1908 and was offered professional terms. He played regularly for the reserves but made the first team just twice, appearing in consecutive Western League matches in October 1908 in the absence of the injured Joe Jee. On the completion of the 1908-09 season Bob was not retained and returned to minor football.
