Billy Lamb made his name with both the Hastings & St Leonards and St Leonards clubs in the East Sussex Senior League, and was recruited by the Albion as a professional in October 1902. A tall man, particularly strong in the air, he was first-choice centre-half during the Southern League promotion campaign of 1902-03 and appeared briefly the following term, but left the club for Tunbridge Wells Rangers in May 1904.
Billy played 39 matches for the Seagulls between 1902 and 1904 scoring 3 goals.
