Tom Fitchie

Tom Fitchie

One of the leading amateurs of his day, Tom Fitchie was noted for his terrific dribbling skills and played in four full internationals for Scotland. Although Scottish by birth, he spent his early days in London and, after representing South London Schools, played for West Norwood over a number of years; he also appeared once for Tottenham Hotspur in the Southern League during the 1901-02 season.

Tom subsequently played extensively for Woolwich Arsenal and Queen’s Park (Glasgow), during which time he gained his Scottish caps, and also appeared with London Caledonians, Norwich City, Glossop and Fulham.

As an amateur Tom was a free agent, and guested as such for the Albion in a goal-less Western League match with Brentford in October 1907.
