Having appeared in Burnley’s Second Division team on 29 occasions during the previous season, Tommy Aspen came to the South Coast with a good reputation in May 1904 and was initially preferred on the right flank, but he soon lost his place to Tommy White and, after failing to fit in at the Goldstone, moved on to an unknown non-League destination in May 1905.

Before joining Burnley in August 1903, Tommy had played for Preston North End’s reserve team and for Kettering Town in the Southern League.

Tommy played 7 matches for the Seagulls in 1904-05.
