
Vallance Jupp was a right-hand batsman and right-arm medium fast bowler who later become an off-break bowler and played 173 matches between 1909 and 1922.
He scored 7,452 runs including 14 centuries average 29.22 and took 351 wickets at 22.42 runs each including 5 wickets in an innings 21 times and 10 wickets in a match twice.
He achieved the double of 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in a season twice and performed the hat-trick on three occasions in 1911, 1919 and 1921. His only double century was 217 not out against Worcestershire at Worcester in 1914.
He later played 280 matches for Northamptonshire for whom he was appointed Secretary and Captain. He played 8 Test Matches for England between 1921 and 1928.
